Primary care/ Internal Medicine Dr

Part time with full time potential.

Salary negotiable with possible benefits.

Essential responsibilities

Work hours M-F and take on call phone orders from snf one weekend a month.
Office work/nursing home
Possible hospice home visits
Rounding on patients in the nursing homes
Must be willing to commute/ flexible schedule
Expected to work independent at times with physician available for consultation
Facilitate follow-up visits and health history review
Perform physical examinations of patients
Order and administer tests/ Review and interpret test results
Diagnose health problems/ manage critical care such as HTN, DiabetesDetect changes in patient condition
Recommend further treatment options
Provide referrals to other practitioners when necessary
Provide after-care/ongoing care information and resources to patients and their families
Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
Patient, compassionate nature
Must be familiar with the EHR medical charting system

Minimum qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
Current Nurse Practitioner board certification in family practice or primary care—i.e. by American Academy of Nurse Practitioners
Current CNOR/CRNFA (if applicable) certification
Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Experience
Minimum of 2 years clinical nursing experience. Two years of experience in the Nurse Practitioner role preferred, but not required—new graduates will be considered.
